Fall in Love with Moments...

Karson and the South Warren JV Squad brought home the win (year TWO) at the district tournament at Warren East High School.  She and her friend Annie were both recognized as All-Tournament players.

Our favorite moment of the month was traveling south to our favorite vacation spot (along with the rest of Bowling Green): DESTIN!!!  We've always stayed on Scenic 98 in the Crystal Beach area which is close to everything.  It feels like we're constantly on the go during the school year, so it's nice to relax and spend some quality time together as a family.

We spent Saturday night at the Destin Seafood Festival.  I'm not sure if we've been before, but it didn't seem familiar to me.  It hopping!  Food trucks, live music, vendors, zipline, tons to see/do.

Isaac wanted to become Thanos which wasn't too smart because his face started itching not long after the paint.  He kept it on for most of the night (even while ziplining).

Karson opted for the Henna tattoo painting and couldn't use her left arm for two hours.  It was a super cool design though and lasted almost two weeks.
After the Seafood Festival, we headed over to Big Kahuna golf.

Sleep, Eat, Drink, Beach, Repeat....can you ever really be tired of being at the beach?  It's heaven.

My Poppy was able to come to the beach with us this time.  He wasn't able to get back/forth to the beach but enjoyed a change of scenery (from home), worked lots of puzzles, ate some good seafood and enjoyed people watching from the Condo.  We were also able to celebrate 92nd birthday while we were there.

Lots of great memories through the years with our BEACH TRIBE.

Karson hooked up with a super sandy stud muffin while at the beach.  He didn't use much sunscreen, but his abs and muscle definition was fantastic (although he didn't have much of a personality).

Shannon and Paul recently visited New Orleans and enjoyed Emeril's Italian.  They made reservations for a couples date night at Emeril's in Destin.  I wish I could say that we enjoyed it.  It was a fun couples night out, but we weren't a fan of the food.  Mine was almost too spicy to eat, and a few of us ordered it.  Matt's was alright but nothing special.  Time together was fun, but we wouldn't recommend it.  Plus it was very overpriced for what you got.

We opted out of dessert at the restaurant and went to Ben & Jerry's instead.

Dinner at The Back Porch and golf at The Track was a great way to round out our week.

We headed back to BG on Thursday morning.  It's always nice to get back into a routine.  Karson had volleyball Thursday and Friday night.  The team had some fun on their Friday night volleyball costume practice...

On Saturday, we enjoyed the WKU Football game and celebrated with John and Laura on Sunday at a baby shower for Louise Deaton (J & L's second baby due in late October/early November).

October moments have been the best so far.....

Count Down to Destin

Fall Break can't get here soon enough.  We are counting down the days to the beach.  I can't wait to smell the salty air, squish my toes in the sand, sit in my beach chair, and hang out with my besties with a drink in my hand.  The first few months of school feel like we're running ourselves into the ground.  Volleyball is non-stop with three tournaments in Lexington (twice) and Sevierville.  Isaac has been taking guitar lessons, and Miles has been going to lots of basketball open gyms with try outs after Fall Break and playing lots of golf.  Those are just the extra curricular - add school, work, and all the other things into the mix and we're overloaded.  I'm ready to sleep in and do NOTHING!

We celebrated Mae Kathryn's 4th birthday and Zella's 2nd birthdays last month.  These little sweethearts are both going to be big sisters soon and are too precious for words.

Matt and Isaac took a special trip to Las Vegas to see Eric Clapton live in concert at Mobile Arena.

Other trip highlights:: walking around on Fremont Street, riding the Big Apple Coaster, Isaac loved shopping at the Vegas memorabilia shop, playing a few rounds at Top Golf, and eating at Heart Attack Grille.  Matt and Isaac made a vow to go back on Isaac's 21st birthday (for obvious reasons) =).
It was a quick trip but the perfect amount of time.  Karson and I were in Sevierville at a tournament, and Miles stayed with Meme and got to have a friend (Bryce Priddy) spend the night with him.

Karson and her besties painting up for Spartans football.  Thankful for her fun crew!

Miles hangs out with Matt quite a bit before and after school in his office.  Miles like his mini fridge with drinks and his stash of snacks.  Best buds.

Matt and I had a nice date night last night.  We ate at Novo Pub when Matt spotted Brooks Koepka a few tables down.  I had no idea who Koepka was but apparently he's the #1 golfer in world.

Matt was starstruck and all I could think about was the scene from Stepbrothers.  I have a weird brain sooo...

Matt asked if he could take his picture and had the best night!

Dale Doback : Why do you have Randy Jackson's autograph on a martial arts weapon? Brennan Huff : 'Cause I bumped into him and all I had on me was this samurai sword. And you're not gonna not get Randy Jackson's autograph, right? Dale Doback : I would've done the exact same thing.

After Novo, we ran over to Warren Central to hear the South Warren Marching Band perform and then went to Spillway to see our bestie Weston sing and hang out with our crew (who will all be in DESTIN with us - yay!).
