My strawberry Miles.
I doubt many of you know that I was once a part of trio girl's group called WINK. The group consisted of me, my sister Shannon and my cousin Brittany. We had break-out hits like "Wink it is a Coin-ki-dink" and "Hot Lips". We came up with little ditties at Nolin Lake. Unfortunately, the group split up. I moved on to Junior High, Brittany was busy with softball in Louisville, and Shannon had a steady boyfriend. Things just kind of fizzled and we broke-up. We've talked about a reunion tour sometime in the near future. I decided to try my "skills" at making a new #1 called "Strawberry Miles". I'm thinking this could be my big break!

First and Last

First Memory - I had a birthday party at Kroger early in life. For some reason, the grocery chain was offering them??? We toured the place and then ate birthday cake in our own private lounge (probably the employee one). And, to top it off, we got to watch Teen Wolf—a classic from back in the day!

First Real Kiss – Bryan Parker

First Love – Bryan Parker and, of course, Tom Cruise

First Concert – Chicago

First Thought In The Morning – Are you kidding, I just closed my eyes a few minutes ago. Is that Miles crying or Karson on the potty?

First Question You'll Ask In Heaven – I’ll probably hunt Eve down and have some questions for her--seriously an apple for childbirth pains, come on--it must have been covered in caramel or something. I'll get to the bottom of it.

First Thought When Hearing "Vacation" – I need at least a week to plan and power clean my house =). I'm SO relaxed.

First Best Friend - Summer

Last Food You Ate – fish, squash, green beans and a handful of M&M’s.

Last CD Purchased – Jack Johnson

Last Good Book You Read – The Diary of a Worm, Moose Tracks and I Brought an Octopus Home, all POWERFUL reads!

Last Time You Cried – not real sure???

Last "I love you" Said - To Matt on the phone as he was taking the kids to church. We were also debating on whether or not to have Diary Queen blizzards (we opted out, an extremely sad moment last night). A DQ opened this week. HOORAY!

Last Funny Thing You Did - I'm eaten up with chiggers due to my intense LOVE for wild blackberries. The other night I went to bed completely painted in clear nailpolish trying my best to treat these itchy suckers!

Last TV Show Watched – Last Comic Standing. I love the guy from Hickory =)!

I saw this post on a friends site and thought it was fun =)!
You're supposed to tag people. So Melissa D. and Melissa M. YOU'RE IT!

Secrets

The two rulers of the Deaton household. Don't tell them that I told you all that!
Since Miles is our third child, we decided to let some things slide a bit early, like dating. Here he is on his first date with Ansley Vernon. Although he is driving without a license, he did manage to get his date a lolly. I guess pleasing the ladies is a bit more important than legal issues.
Miles decided to share the details of his date with Ansley's little brother Trapper at church the next day. Trapper wasn't that thrilled to hear about their rendevous but definitely wanted to know more about the lolly and how teeth are grown. ~BOYS~

Hostess, Blue Bird, Little Debbie Powdered Donut LOVE

Powdered Donuts are "the bomb.com" as my cousin Kenton would put it. Our boys can polish off a bag of these sweet treats very quickly. At home, the donuts have been banished to the back porch due to their EXTREME messiness. I'm not sure if the donuts themselves are that messy or if it's the donut "destroyers" who LOVE them. Here are the boys enjoying their sugar HIGH at Fairfield.

Fairfield Fun

We took a mini-vacation to Fairfield Glade this week with Matt's family. Fairfield is in Crossville, TN and a pleasant little spot to relax. It's surrounded by a lake, golf courses and mini-golf, hiking trails, a pool and lots of playgrounds. If you're looking for a nice, close retreat, this place is ideal!

The outside of a slide is MUCH MORE fun than the inside!

Karson kept telling us that she was doing "serious training". I think she's on her way to becoming a Jedi.

Sleeping with uncle Andy, playing Candy Land with Nana, and Crocodile Dentist with Vicky.

Identical Cousins

I love this quote:

"Cousin to cousin we'll always be, special friends from the same family tree."

Our children are blessed with many cousins. I have such fond memories of fun times growing up with my cousins. I'm thankful my children will get to be around such loving, caring and kind ready-made friends through their cousins.

Ruff, Tuff, Stuff

Karson is a cheerleader in training. We're thinking about doing gymnastics at TumbleTown this fall. I got the papers, schedules and calendar yesterday, and Isaac managed to destroy them in one sitting with a ballpoint pen. I guess I'll be making another trip there this week. Sarah and Allie are her coaches.

Sum Sum Summertime

My adorable daughter Karson.

My handsome son Miles.

My precious Isaac.

We braved the waterpark today.
It's difficult to be outside on these blustery summer days unless it's in water.

Rub-a-dub-dub

The joys of bathtime. Some of you know that I am totally addicted to Bath and Body right now. BTW, the semi-annual sale ends this weekend. I got Karson some glittery, strawberry body wash (you can see it on the shelf in this photo). She loves bathing with it. Isaac does too. He got a hold of it the other night and basically drained the entire bottle. Our bath was a glittery wonderland. I'll probably head to Dollar Tree for the next bottle. I saw some CandyLand wash the last time I was in there.

Sssssssnakes--Ahhhhh!

I know some of you think that Isaac is holding a rock, but if you look very closely and use your imagination, he wants you to believe that it is a snake. He can play this game for hours and loves frightening me with his "rock snakes". Speaking of snakes, do you remember the charocoal snakes sold at firework stands that grow out of the ground? I purchased a few packs at the fireworks stand next to McDonald's on Scottsville Road (after harassing them three times the prior week). I'm sure the guy there thought I was some kind of weirdo checking back each day to see if the snakes were in stock, but I NEEDED them. I promised my kids snakes, and snakes they must get! We burned snakes all day long. Fortunately, we weren't bitten. Happy 4th of July!

Breakthrough and Bling

Miles has two teeth. He's almost ready for hamburgers. And, unfortunately, the dentist. I imagine he already has two cavities. I think I'll avoid the silver caps for now.

If you look real close, you can see Karson's BLING.
