Baby Beluga

Miles and the entire kindergarten bunch did their first ever spring program at Plano Elementary last Tuesday, April 16.  It was history in the making.  Ms. Cothran, the music teacher, told all the parents that she felt the kinders got lost in the Christmas program so she wanted to try something different with them this year.  I thought the entire event was a huge success and really showcased all the kids.  Plus, since the event was only for kindergarten families, the gym wasn't packed with people.

Miles and his buddies all dressed in their pajamas waiting to perform "Baby Beluga".  I automatically think of The Wiggles when I hear the words Baby Beluga.  Karson and Isaac were smitten with those wiggly folks, and we always had their CD playing in the van or DVD playing in the house.  I remember hearing the song "Baby Beluga" over and over again.

It seemed everyone in Miles's class LOVED getting their picture made.  I would start off with Miles and one other child which eventually became a mosh-pit of the entire class.  It's sweet how much they all love each other.

Getting all lined up for the big performance.  Check out that sweet backdrop.  I asked Ms. Cothran how I could help with the performance, and she asked me "how artistic are you?"  This turned into meeting her last Saturday and helping her haul all the wooden backboards out of storage and attempt to make a bedroom seen for the backdrop. She had also asked one of the teachers at Plano to come assist as well,  This lady was the true artist in the bunch.  After we got the white and brown pieces of poster paper up and helped with the window, Ms. C and I were basically told to get lost (in a nice way) so she could get her creative juices flowin'.  She said she worked better without an audience, that it made her nervous.  I didn't mind because I needed to get some yard work done anyway, and last Saturday was gorgeous.

These were the only pictures I took at the show.  I have tried my best to focus more on being a part of the memory instead of constantly video-ing or photographing the memory (which is hard to do because I want to remember everything about my kids childhood).  They are growing up so quickly.  Here is a video of Miles's favorite song "Brush Your Teeth".

Ms. Cothran had told me ahead of time..."wait 'til you see Miles".  She said he was a dancing machine and constantly ad-lbbing moves. Eh hem, tell me something I don't know.  The boy LOVES to dance, and if given the opportunity, will break out his moves in any and every circumstance.  I especially love his moves in this video.  Enjoy!
