It's officially official, we've got
THREE Tuesday Teens living under our roof now. In fact, I changed the name of my blog from
Three Tuesday Tots to Three Tuesday Teens. October (and the fall in general) seems to fly by. The "grind" didn't stop post Fall Break. Miles's afternoons got even busier as he tried out for the SWMS Boys Basketball Team and made it. It was one of those scary moments as a parent. Tryouts were Monday and Tuesday (with Tuesday being "cut" day). I know that Miles is a good player, but tons of boys try out for basketball and many don't make the team. He'd been to all the open gyms but still. Tuesday night was packed (as usual) - Karson had a game in Logan County at 5:30 PM, there was GSP meeting at Knicely at 6 PM, and Miles had tryouts until 6 PM. Matt went to the game, and I hung back to wait for Miles (and hopeful to attend the GSP Meeting). 6 PM came and went as I waited at the middle school gym. I'd see groups of boys exiting the gym. Some of them were visibly sad. Others were giving their parents a thumbs-down as they made their way to the car. My heart sunk each time a group came out. Time crept on and around 6:30 PM, Miles emerged with a paper in hand. He'd made the team and was pretty talkative about it. It was cracking me up because he said two things very demonstratively - (1) the coach gave them his number but did not want them giving it out and (2) we are not to ever contact the coach about playing time. I thought it was pretty funny, and then he added AND I've got practice on my birthday. I knew I'd be almost 45 minutes late for the GSP meeting at that point so I scrapped that plan and took my boy for a celebratory dinner at his favorite place - Taco Bell.
This new schedule has been an adjustment for him, but he's handling it all well. His first scrimmage is this Friday.
Miles celebrated #13 last Thursday. He wanted one thing and one thing only - a new putter. Our boy is a golfing fool.
He couldn't wait to try it out on his green upstairs and put it to good use last Saturday at Barren River Golf Course.

| I surprised him with some Krispy Kreme Birthday donuts - always a hit! |
Karson celebrated her 17th birthday yesterday! Hard to believe she'll be an adult next year (seems like she's been an adult for quite a while). She'd requested waffles for her birthday breakfast so I surprised her with some Waffle House waffles yesterday.
We met up after school so she could get her unrestricted license at the courthouse.
We celebrated both of our October babies on Sunday with family. It was a gorgeous day and always fun getting together.
Papa John's pizza and Dairy Queen Blizzard cake = tasty birthday treats!
Miles had so much fun outside playing badminton and throwing football. That night as we were snuggling up and studying for his Science test, he told me he had so much and it was the best day.
