Snow Week Wrap Up

I didn't want to miss an opportunity to brag about Plano's Academic team before my snow post.  Our group took home the Championship Governor's Cup trophy on Saturday March 1.  I am extremely proud of this group of kids (especially the 5th graders, most have been on the team since 3rd grade).  They have worked hard this season and sacrificed many early mornings and afternoons practicing, participating in matches and preparing for this event.  Karson was part of the quick recall team and an alternate for the Language Arts testing.  Way to go Plano Panthers!  Good luck at regionals!

Snow and Ice hit Bowling Green hard last week.

I was fortunate to get to spend at least one snow day last week playing in the cold with the kids.
Our administration at SKyPAC closed the offices on Monday because of the weather.  The kids were out of school for the entire week.

Karson's friend Kaitlyn picked her up Monday morning and off they went behind a 4-wheeler.  We didn't see her for most of the day.  Love our neighbors and glad she was able to hang out with one of her BFF's.
Hot chocolate is the ultimate drink on a chilly day!
Matt made the decision to go grocery shopping with the kids at some point during the week.  Snow days cause the mind to fog, and all the days seem to run together in one long day (I'm sounding like Navin R. Johnson, now).  I think the kids won the Wal-Mart battle.  Caffeine and loads of cereal anyone?

When I arrived at SKyPAC last week, I noticed that the Youth Arts Month exhibit had been hung in the children's gallery.  As I perused the walls looking at all the work, I came across the Plano Elementary school boards.  And, to my surprise, noticed that Isaac had a piece on display.  I quickly snapped a picture and texted it to Matt.  I wanted to him to ask Isaac about the piece.  Matt responded, Isaac said he didn't do that.  I texted back, why would his teacher go to all the trouble of selecting pieces and labeling them if he didn't do it? To this day, Isaac has no recollection of creating the piece so I have no idea if it's actually his.  At any rate, I took a picture of "someone's" work =).

Karson found her Easter dress at The Polka Dot Door.  My friend Jennie has the cutest children's boutique close to the mall.  She's been posting lots of pictures on the store's Facebook page, and I have seen a couple of dresses that I knew Karson would love.  We made a trip there on Saturday and found a  beautiful dress.  The trick…to get everyone else to match the colors.  Thankfully, there are lots of colors to choose from.

My dad gave Karson and Elizabeth some fun money.  Mom recently got an iPhone and texted me these pictures of the girls at the mall shopping with Pops's moola last Sunday.  I'm not surprised most of it was spent at Claire's.

Spring is right around the corner, and although I love springing forward and having that extra hour of daylight, this week has been exhausting.  Come on 60/70 degree weather (minus the pollen)!!!
