Isaac went to his first middle school formal last Friday night. He was
on the fence about going and had announced at one point that he wasn't
going but was going to go ice skating instead. However, the night
before the dance (6 PM to be exact), he told us he planned on going.
NOW, one would think that since we have two sons, we would have a
surplus of dress clothes. Nope! We don't. They live in t-shirts,
hoodies and sweat/sport pants. We've got a couple of button up shirts
but no ties and only two pairs of khaki pants. I told Isaac we needed
to go shopping and get him at least a shirt and tie. He said, "nah,
I'll just wear my Halloween costume." That's my content boy - a cheap
polyester,
elastic waist slip on pants, vest and clip tie. I said,
"that's not going to work. We need to go to the mall." Off we went. We looked
around at Dillard's but their prices were unreal! Our Mall Santa is right next to Dillard's which tickled Isaac, and he HAD to get a picture with him.
Success was found at The Children's Place where he
found a sharp white, patterned dress shirt and tie (grand total $13, not $70+ like it would've cost at Dillards). Matt got him all fixed up and ready to go. Is he not the cutest!?! Isaac is too!
Karson had a basketball game at the high school (homecoming) so we dropped him off and headed next door for the game. I hadn't more than sat down in the gym, when my teacher friend texted me a video of my son's grand entrance. What a mess! I think it's safe to say he had fun!
