Warning: Another ADULT Deaton in the House

Isaac is officially an adult today!  He's such a fun young man, and we've enjoyed his childhood tremendously.  These next few months as he makes "adult" decisions will be important ones.  However, we know that he is fully capable of the next chapter and whatever he decides to do with his life.  He has always been the kind of person that walks to the beat of his own drum but is also willing to listen to the opinions of others.  We're thinking he would make a good lawyer especially with his arguing/reasoning skills which have recently been demonstrated in Scattergories which we play A LOT these days.

Isaac had requested Gingerbread House constructing over Christmas, but those things are stupid expensive for what you get.  Plus, half the time the icing doesn't work, they end up falling down, and it turns into a sticky disaster.  I squashed the idea and told him no.  However, the kits were marked down significantly after Christmas, so I purchased one to give him on his birthday.  I knew it would tickle him, and the same fun would be had at a fraction of the price.  Hah!

These two have a special relationship/friendship and spent lots of time laughing and decorating this masterpiece.

Karson came in town over the weekend.  The first of ANY college semester is stressful, and upper division nursing is no different. Her new job as a University of Louisville student tutor began last week as well.  Lots of new adjustments and classes coming at her at once, but she is taking it all in stride.  We're super proud of her.

Because she was in town, we decided to pull a birthday party for Isaac together last minute.  He'd told me he didn't have to work on Sunday but had to work on his actual birthday (today).  He also told me he wanted to watch the football games. We decided it would be fun  to invite family and friends over at 2PM for football, appetizers, cookie cake and celebrating!  It was a great Sunday!

Today, his actual birthday, I made him a donut hole tower.  Unfortunately, no one wants to take pictures at 6:45AM so I didn't subject him to that torture (although I did ask).

We capped off the evening at Texas Roadhouse, and we made it a point to sing at 7:11 on the dot, not too long after we got back home from dinner.
