Torture Chamber Round Two

Move over Flavor Flav, there's a new blingster on the block. Karson went to the dentist AGAIN this morning. I made Matt take her this go around. More work needed to be done, and I, honestly, didn't want to see my eldest undergo that kind of pain again. She had a spacer inserted where the extracted tooth had been, got ANOTHER crown (bling, bling) and had a baby root canal. I mean SERIOUSLY, have I marred her for life with all this dental torture? Please pray for my Karson. Her dental nightmare is far from over. We have another appointment in June.

Karson and the Flav morphed together.

I wonder if they still make the bubble gum waxed lips--play with them now and chew them later. Do any of you fellow bloggers remember this brilliant invention? After the novelty of playing with these awesome Angelina Jolie lips wears off, you can chew them and turn them into bubble gum. I am a gum chewer and never managed to turn those waxy pearls into gum. I would gnaw and gnaw, chew and chew, grind and grind--NOTHING. I also remember the fad with Cinnaburst gum where you could chew the wrapper. Again, a brilliant idea with terrible results. My gum always tasted like papery putty. Not sure why I went off on this tangent, but memory lane always serves up some good laughs (which I can certainly use with our impending ER and dental bills).

  1. Poor Karson. I hope she has not been too traumatized by all of this.

And yes....I also remember those beautiful waxy lips. Never was able to turn them into gum either. Edible gum wrapper - what were they thinking??????? It is going to be interesting in another 20 years to see what our kids remember about their youth :-)

  4. Poor Karson! You're hilarious with the PhotoShopping! I remember thinking the same thing about those waxy lips... I think someone was just trying to pull a fast one over on us with the whole gum thing. Can't believe you went to a monster truck rally!!! You get the Mom of the Year award! We were in Lexington at the same time - wouldn't have thought to look for 'ya at the monster truck rally!

  5. Love that title and photo shop picture, but I hate that Karson is going through so much. Bless her heart. Kudos to Matt for taking round 2...you all make a great tag team! Hopefully she won't have any more bling in the near future!

  6. Yes I remember both of those blasts from the pasts. Chewing the wrapper just seemed wrong, didn't it! Anyway, so glad we got to shop together today. And maybe we will see you before you leave for your big getaway trip!
Give Karson lots of loving from us and tell her the Tooth Fairy holds a special place for her in her heart!

  7. Poor girl! I'm glad you didn't have to brave this round...it's hard to see our babies hurting!

Loved the monster truck pictures...y'all are so much more fun than us :) I guess I should get geared up for more of that with 3 boys! Or send Jared while Maddy and I get pedicures :)

And I LOVED the eat-the-wrapper Cinnaburst gum! Yes, it was wierd, but I totally bought into it! I'm much more mature now...let's pretend I did NOT buy my kids Pop Rocks recently so I could have some too :)
