Doing Time in the Clink

Our children receive their share of spankings, but most of their hard time is spent in time-out which is located on the wall directly behind our front door. Isaac has gotten quite cozy with this spot--I guess he's finally venturing into the terrible 2's at 3 1/2. In fact, he voluntarily puts himself in time-out when he knows it's deserved. One day he hit Karson and told me, "Mom, I said sorry. I'm going to time-out." Here lately, Miles has become curious about time-out and puts his face against the wall and fake cries. Of course, this occurrence only happens when Isaac is in there, but it's the cutest thing. I'll try to get a video of it. I imagine baby Miles will take the record for most time-outs. He has a temper and LOVES to hit, bite, scream, pull hair, throw toys, you name it. I need to read the book "Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours" again.

  1. How cute! I loved reading how he put himself in time out! Hilarious! I think I am going to have a child like Miles! Kennedy is VERY strong willed and has started biting and pinching if things are going her way! (Oh, no!) I need that book, too!

  3. Miles is just too cute to deserve time in the clink! Of course that is what people tell me about Emma and I am pretty sure that her "cell" is just around the corner from his :-)

  4. Oh, I don't believe Baby Miles could do those things.... but if you do get that book, can I borrow it?
Zoe's throwing tantrums these days (it's kind of funny--right now).

  5. You're hilarous. Since we've begun attempting potty training with Wesley, he's taken to heading to his time-out spot for a good poop.

  6. Where were your comments to make me feel better about spanking when Cole was mistreating his pal Knox? And thanks for the accidental book recommendation. And while Lee's blog made me not want to have more (well, not really), your story about Miles fake crying in pretend time-out while big brother's in real time-out totally makes me want to have more.
