I used to LOVE going to the grocery with my mother when I was little. In fact, she told me that when I was four, I would tell her all the things she actually forgot to purchase on her list. Okay, okay, I know I'm a bit of a TYPE A in the personality category, but I can TOTALLY be TYPE B too. I love to socialize and consider myself fairly flexible. When you become a parent, you learn very quickly that patience is the key to sanity. I can think of nothing more relaxing than taking three kids to Wal-Mart. We went there today. While maneuvering the world's largest Zamboni through the store, I managed to buy some groceries to make a quiche for a friend, grab a wedding gift for my cousin, purchase Isaac some $.88 markers, and reluctantly buy some Fruit Loops Cereal Straws. I would've have avoided these disgusting, gooey tubes of sugar when Karson was a baby. But today, I've learned the childlike euphoria of drinking milk through a cereal straw. Miles has gotten to experience the many JOYS of having two older siblings.

I purchased the Fruit Loops straws, but I think I would like the Cocoa Puffs ones better? Let me know if you try them out 1st! Speaking of sanity, I need a dose of it at this point:)
ReplyDeleteI am guilty of purchasing these crazy Fruit Loop Straws also, only once though....they did not go over so great in our house, too sweet. What will they think of next!!!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, got some in my pantry. Jake loves them. But bless his heart, he can’t stand it. He begins eating it instead of drinking through it. It is like that old lollipop commercial. How many licks in a lollipop…one.
ReplyDeleteHey, they're drinking milk! It's not like they're having coke through their straws or anything...What will be the state of my third if I already take that approach with Cole? I'm way more laid back than I thought I'd be, and probably a little more than I should be. Kinda makes me feel guilty. I hope he doesn't pick up my eating habits. I love to snack.
ReplyDeleteYou are too fun! I haven't even seen those! C loves straws, so I will have to try them sometime!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so these caused a MAJOR meltdown in our family one day when Chase put them in the cart without telling me, and while checking out, I thought it was a mistake and put them back (because he usually asks me before he puts something in the cart). When we left, he started looking for the cool thing he got for a surprise and I had to tell him that I put them back. Luckily, I was on the phone with Kyla who was still at Wal-mart and she searched the store until she found them, and brought them to our house :)
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm going to have to give in and buy some of those straws. Mitchell and Cassidy beg me to get them every time we're in the cereal isle.
