Family Photos Take Four

Back in April of this year, the Deaton family gathered at the home of Gabrielle Bush for a family photo session.  The last time we had photos made with the entire Deaton family was when Isaac was about 1 or 2 years old.  Our family has expanded quite a bit since that time with marriages and more great- grandchildren.

We were asked to wear long sleeved earth toned shirts and jeans.  I knew this would be tricky for us because earth tones and children clothes aren't easy to find.  Plus, I needed to coordinate for five people.  I don't know about you mothers out there, but something about group pictures makes me NOT want to go shopping.  Instead, I like perusing through our current wardrobes and finding something that matches.  Shopping is a last ditch effort.  I don't want to buy new clothes for five people for one picture.  Go ahead, call me Ebeneezer.  Shannon gives me quite a few of Evan's hand-me-downs to look through.  There were two different green shirts in the latest bag of spring goodies she gave me--one long sleeved gingham checked shirt and another mossy green short sleeved shirt.  I thought both shirts looked nice and earthy.  However, I needed to find shirts for the rest of the family.  I had gotten Matt a green golf shirt while we were in Hilton Head at the outlet mall.  It was a bit brighter than earth tones but still looked good with the boys green shirts.  And, fortunately, I hadn't consigned the dress that Karson ended up wearing which was in my attic.  I thought it would be cute paired with a jean jacket and boots.  The only outfit left to assemble was mine. Jeans I had. A green shirt, I didn't have.  One evening, I was looking through facebook and saw a close friend wearing a long sleeved green shirt in a picture she had taken.  I immediately messaged her and asked if I could borrow it (miserly me--hah). I'm sure this entire paragraph is more than you bargained for with clothing/photo/picture taking decision making.  I think our greens made for a nice blend in the group photo and no money was spent.

Our family with beautiful Mamaw smack dab in the middle!

In the spirit of posting family photos, I thought I would recap our tour of Family Photo Sessions which began in September of last year and have continued until present.

We are a picture-taking family, aren't we?!?!
