I decided to make my favorite cookie this afternoon No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal. Oh yeah, it's business time. This cookie has taken me years to master. I have no idea why it's such a tricky recipe, but nonetheless, here it is for those of you who have never sunk your teeth into one of these bad boys:
1 stick of real butter
2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
4 Tbs. unsweetened cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
2 1/2 c. quick oats
*In a medium saucepan, mix butter, sugar, salt, cocoa and milk. Heat to full boil and cook for precisely 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla, peanut butter and oats. Stir well and drop by the spoonfull onto waxed paper or aluminum foil.
Gain about 1 lb. per cookie and eat about 6 (with a ginormous glass of milk) in each sitting. They are totally worth every calorie!

My favorite! One of my best gal pals in G-town would make them for me when I was preggo. I can never master the trick and have tried so many times. The best came from my high school cafeteria, I would always eat one right before aerobics class.
ReplyDeleteWe call them "Cow Patty Cookies," and you're right. They are the BEST!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I think we've established that we live close to each other, so I'm wondering....were's mine? I swear when I or my mom(who can make dirt taste gourmet)try to make these they are like liquid. So I guess we need to start a playgroup where each mommy brings something fattening and yummy???
ReplyDeleteI'll go ahead and place my order...do you think they'll mail okay?!
ReplyDeleteI do love these too. I used to make them all the time until Weston asked me to stop, but next
